there once lived a man
that we call papa
he loves a good snack
and he will always
peel you an apple.

he is crafty like that
has many tricks
up his sleeve
he could teach you
how to do
just about anything.

yes sir,
a good man to have
around
he'll even sing you a song
and has a pretty good sound.

you'll always find him outside
playin' in the dirt
six days a week
he'll teach you about hard work.

if you ask him his thoughts
boy, he'll tell you right away
no beatin' round the bush
he'll help show you the way.

that's when he'll tell ya
his philosophy on life...
"you must work hard every day
to avoid all the strife."

and he'll go on
preaching away,
"you gotta learn how to trade
if you wanna have it made!"

he'll also spin you a riddle
finding words is his fortay
and he always loves a good joke
especially when it's time to partaaay!

yes ma'am
the man knows a good time
we always love being with him
when it's time for whiskey and wine.

then it's time to relax
he'll talk all the way
he likes to sit and chat
and wants to hear
all about your day.

he's cool like that
good conversation he talks
because he loves us so much
and cares about our walk.

so that's our lil' papa
we love him so dear
that all together now
as a family....

as this father's day ends
we'll say a little prayer
to thank him and say,
"amen, sister, amen!"
