a very human pose

this angel sits
and waits patiently,
pondering her day-
waiting and looking.
the white,
flowing fabric
attracts my eye,
the way it folds
and falls
and casts shadows.
the wings embrace me
- i wonder -
can she really fly?
the halo shouts
of one of god's
precious creations
- holy and pure -
the white of the fabric
is also a symbol.
the way she sits
shows me patience,
being still.
